Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Chalk Timer uses and why. In short: there are no accounts, your timer settings stay on your device, and advertising is provided by Google AdSense.

No accounts

You do not need to sign up or log in, and we do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details to use the timers.

Storage on your device

The timers save a few things in your own browser so they keep working the way you left them: the running timer is kept in sessionStorage so a reload can resume it, and preferences such as sound, volume and high-contrast mode are kept in localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Analytics

We use PostHog, in its cookieless mode, to count page views and to measure page speed (Core Web Vitals). It does not set cookies, does not store anything on your device for tracking, does not record your screen and does not build a profile of you across sites. Each visit is counted using an anonymous daily hash that cannot be linked back to you.

Advertising and cookies

Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads and to measure them, which can include personalised ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalisation in your Google account settings.

Your consent choices

Where the law requires consent, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent message from Google's certified Privacy & messaging tool is shown before personalised ads are used. You can change your choice later from the same message.
